WWI Memorial Monument

World War I Memorial Monument

This memorial was erected in 1921 to honor the soldiers’ lives lost during World War I. Much smaller than the Civil War monument across the way, this monument was simply constructed by placing engraved plaques onto a large boulder.

This year will be the 100th anniversary of the monument's dedication. To honor the occasion, the Watertown History Museum in collaboration with the VFW will host a commemoration and rededication ceremony around the Memorial Day holiday.
